The all-encompassing data center is a thing of the past. Modern data environments are distributed and include remote and branch offices, mobile devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT) as well as cloud solutions such as infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). There’s more critical data to back up than ever before. Plus, data silos and fragmented management mean poor visibility, which can make it difficult to comply with regional data residency and security rules as well as service-level agreements (SLAs). On-premises data protection has not kept pace. According to a survey by Fujitsu, 45% of IT managers said they had lost data or productivity related to data protection inefficiency within the last year.1 Often, this is because on-premises backups are cumbersome and do not always happen on time.

Enterprise Workload Management gets the right work to the right person at the right time, eliminating the outdated manual distribution of work model. Enterprise Workload Management finally gives organizations the ability to correlate the work that customer service interactions create in the front office -- with the best resource within the organization required to complete that work in the back office. Enterprise Workload Management ensures that the highest priority work is being handled by the right resource, and gives managers real-time visibility into when the work will be completed, as well as reports that show the outcomes of the work. Customers get notified when an order or application is processed instead of waiting to hear or having to repeated call back. Employees get specific coaching and training plans based on the results of their work.

Change is inevitable. Any successful business manager knows their organization must continually evolve to stay relevant and competitive. Whether it’s the packaged goods company that has reached the limits of its market, or the financial giant integrating a new software platform, or the global corporation building teams, adaptability is imperative. Having resilient employees that are open to change and better equipped to cope with stress is key. But it may surprise you to learn who among your employees will weather the storm and who won’t. The Chief Technology Officer? Or the lead on the innovation project? Your top analyst? While some managers understandably assume that their highest earning, most highly educated employees are all highly resilient, they may need to think again. Industrial enterprises around the world are retooling their factories with advanced technologies to boost manufacturing flexibility and speed, achieving new levels of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), supply chain responsiveness, and customer satisfaction in the process. This renaissance reflects very real pressures industry players face today. For years, traditional factories have been operating at a disadvantage, impeded by production environments that are “disconnected”—at the very least strictly gated—to corporate business systems, to supply chains, and to customers and partners. Managers of these traditional factories say the feeling is akin to flying blind. These are operations where plant floors, front offices, and suppliers operate in independent silos, where managers have only hazy visibility into downtime and quality problems, and where the root causes of inefficiencies are rarely understood or addressed.
